Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow color ale with a huge bubbly white head with less then average retention. Aroma is totally dominated by the Belgian yeast. Taste is a mix between good malt backbones, the Belgian yeast and some spices that bring a strange sparkling sensation, which I didnt, particularly enjoyed. Body is a bit light and carbonation is low. Good effort but not close to the best of the style.

First time I review one of the 4/1000 brewing contest winners... because it's the first time I get my hands on one.
Quite a surprising colour, cloudy creamy caramel with salmon highlights, under a very effervescent and plentiful head of stark white foam that settles in quite handily and hangs around for a long time. Good clinging to the glass, leaving lumps of the white foam behind.
Aromas are very subdued but recognisably belgian in influence. Spicyness, candied sweetness with some hints of fruit, however the lack of presence leaves one wanting much more... ergo the lower smell score.
Flavours are slightly more assertive than the aromas but fall short of the firm mouthfeel and alcohol bite which leaves a crisp bitterness on the palate. Dominant flavours are malt and spice surrounding a requisite yeastiness which lends some texture to the brew.
This is a good beer made without any ''technical'' flaws but lacking in character and appeal for my preferences. Reminds me a great deal of Leffe Blonde in all aspects.
