Tasted at DeGroen's on 6/6/06.
Appearance: Nice clear gold colour, with a thin head a touch of sticky lacing to the end.
Smell: Very mild, restrained to the point of nonexistence. A little malt, a touch of clove.
Taste: Malty and a touch sweet, with hints of bananna and clove, followed by a little alcoholic bite on the mildly citric finish.
Mouthfeel: Very creamy and smooth.
Drinkability: Certainly a great drinking beer, I just wanted more from it.

Albeit not my favorite style, I expected just a touch more out of this one. The golden colour and creamy head were apparent enough for anyone to notice. There were some notes of maltiness in the nose, but not a whole hell of a lot though. The aroma, much like the flavor, seemed a bit restrained in some way. I will definately give another batch of this one a try next time, as perhaps I need to revisit this, and examine it further.

Pours a light amber-color with a fading white head and minimal lacing. The malty aroma blends with traces of fresh hops. The ample malt body is caramel sweet and nearly nectar in consistency. Fairly high in hops with a mild citrus and metallic bitterness. A light flavor of pears can be noticed in the background.

I was a bit letdown by this one. I love this style, and was excited to see it on tap, but.... Poured a clear golden color, with a good, creamy head. Not much lacing, though. Nose exhibited some malt, but verrry mild. C'mon, give it to me! The mouthfeel overall was quite good. The flavors, like the aroma, were much too understated. It had a sweet malt flavor, and the slightest hint of some hops at the end, but nothing stood out. Next.....
