On tap at Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn NY. Pours a cloudy yellow amber, tight and tiny bubble head, leaving creamy lace o' pleanty. Amazing banana/clove/fruit/yeast nose. Moutfeel/taste/finish are most awe inspiring. Well balanced and complex. I enjoyed this one alot. Worth seeking out.

Not at all what I expected, but quite good. The aroma/flavor of cloves and banana is amazing. Truely one of the more flavorful and different weizenbocks I've had. Had this on tap at Racers Cafe in Baltimore (check it out of you haven't already). Pures a murky yellow with a nice head. Mouthfeel is good to average. I little sweet on the end, but not bad. This is now my favorite beer from DeGroens after the Doppelbock.

Its cloudy (unfiltered), amber-orange body is capped by a creamy head of ivory foam that slowly drops to a razor-thin surface covering but still leaves walls of splotchy lace about the glass. The nose is quite phenolic with notes of clove, plastic, spice, sweet banana, and even distant smoke. The body is firm and it's very fine and natural carbonation gently caresses the tongue before fading away silky-smooth. The flavor is rich and exciting with its sweetish, banana/plastic/clove-like malt; and it's exceptionally well-balanced by a firm bitterness and enlivened by splashes of alcohol. It finishes dry, but with some residual phenolics; and the alcohol is kept in-check. If there's one beer to try from De Groen's, this might be it!

This beer has a cult following locally and sells out quickly. The appearance is a cloudy dark amber reminiscent of turkey gravy, but don't let it scare you off. The banana and clove wafted up from the glass even before the first swallow. This year's batch seems a bit down from previous years overall, a bit of alcohol present. Nevertheless, its complex flavor, easy drinking mouthfeel left me wanting more after the growler was emptied. I'm going back for a serving straight from the tap. Get it while you can.

The beer pours a Chill Hazed amber to almost brown, the head mediocre in size, the texture frothy and the color a very light tan as the head vanishes a fine coating of lace forms to conceal the glass. Hints of Banana, clove, yeast and a sweet nutlike tone also noticed, quite pleasant as noses go with the start sweet and the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is mild in its carbonation, the hop perky in their spiciness, dry and slightly tangy aftertaste, a fine dinking beer and one I wish was more readily available here in the wild west.
