Very difficult to get head on this beer, and once you get some, it's almost immediately gone. A bad start. The body, which now looks like fruit juice, shows an opaque orange color. The brew screams "Belgian" when you put your nose close to it: very yeasty with fruity esters of orange and subtle spiced notes. Definitely peppery, with hints of anise.
The taste is fruity and sweet, combining the fruitiness and the light tartness of citrus, with mostly notes of orange. Peppery as in a Strong Belgian ale, in a Chouffe way maybe. Quite enjoyably, A light melting bready maltiness appears. Wheaty, but not over the top. Not as "witbier" -like as one could or would expect for a "biere blanche". The finish may be a bit dry, and the body could be a tad thicker. An interesting witbier in its spiciness.
