Poured from a bottle into Leffe glasses. Cloudy, amber-chestnut brew with a thin tan lace over the liquid. Smells of yeast, but more of sweet, boozy malt.
Tastes as the aroma would suggest: sweet maltiness over a yeast flavor. Slightly watery, perhaps not quite full of flavor, and foamy in the mouth. Hops do not assert themselves anywhere but in the slightly bitter finish that competes with the lingering sweetness. Perhaps not quite in balance.
Mouthfeel is a bit empty due to the wateriness and high carbonation. The overall sweetness does not contribute to an overall great flavor profile.

I bought this beer from a wine and beer shop in the south of France in October 2009 with a shlef life of a few months left on it.
Look- It poured true to the 'brune' style and the head was quite nice on the beer. Generally quite inviting.
Nose- Quite bland, I thought. However it did promise a good dose of nice rich, dark malt.
Taste- Caramel and coffee dominate throughout. They kind of fight with each other and not one flavour really wins
Mouthfeel- Generally average, very thin for a beer this dark.
Drinkability- I have bought the beer since, and generally I do not mind it. Now that my supplier has run out of stock, I do not think I will be tracking the stuff down. It is very drinkable just do not expect too much from it.

Poured a light tan head that faded to an island of film. Hazy amber colored beer is a bit lifeless. Smells like brandy, apples, caramel, and pastry. Soft mouthfeel with barely any carbonation comes off as light and watery. Not a bad thing, it kind of works with the flavors. It tastes like it smells with the apple coating the other flavors as they fade in and out. If the apple were any stronger it would ruin the beer, but again it sort of works in the grand scheme of things. Smells and tastes pretty good, but it's really light and watery. It's not a bad beer, but something about it just isn't right.
