Feb. 2019: Shared 1 pint bottle, brewed in 1992. Dark brown colour, no carbonation. Nice aroma, malts, molasses, prunes and other dark dried fruits, pleasantly oxidised. The flavour, however, was salty and unpleasant, clearly "off".

Just cracked a bottle on its 25th anniversary.
Once I peeled back the wax, the cork crumbled. - so I was a little way.
But the beer is still in very good condition.
Even more like treacle than I remember - in a good way.
This is a beer for sipping not quaffing.
If you like barley wines then this is exceptional of its style.
The classic flavours are there and still improving.
Getting close to a classic port or maderia

Corked and caged one imperial pint bottle. Brewed in 1992 to celebrate 250 years of brewing. This was bottle number 03156. Original gravity 1100.5. Poured into tulips.
A = Little to no carbonation, color of strong dark roasted black coffee.
S = Some evidence of oxidation, but enjoyable with almonds, maple syrup and vanilla.
T & D = Even with the loss of carbonation and slight oxidation, this could have gone longer in the cellar and held up very well. A very strong and robust flavor with maple syrup. black strap molasses, treacle, licorice, almonds, roasted black walnuts, a good amount of balancing bitterness from fuggles and goldings hops but primarily a big malt bomb. Excellent brew. I could drink this again and again if it were available. If I can get another bottle I will hold until its 20th anniversary to drink.
M = Heavy bodied, great mouthcoating.
