Poured a deep borwn with some red hues showing thru,a nice tan colored thin head that left some good lacing.Nice sweet appetizing smell of bitter chocolate I also got some alcohol notes in the aroma.Very roasty/nutty taste to start out with, with some green apple to balance this out. This a pretty complex porter, one to savor drinking one or maybe two would be my limit on this one.

Presentation: 550ml/18.6 oz brown bottle with a drink before date jet ink printed on the lower part of the back label.
Appearance: Sticky pasty thick tan lace leaves patchy rings of lace, the colour is a deep dark brown with bright ruby hues.
Smell: Sweetish of toffee with hints of over caramelized sugar and chocolate. Faint aromas of ripe fruit and alcohol also hit the nose.
Taste: Sort of sweet and sour ... sour from the acidic twang of the roasted malts and a sweetness from the malt that goes a little fruity (caramelized apple?). The mouth feel is smooth and creamy with a good dose of body. Bitterness is like a third party ... there to just balance things out. Alcohol is evident with some mild fruity esters with a drying chocolate malty finish.
Notes: Quite the porter here ... seemed to fair well coming from across the pond. A delight to drink and savor, a well brew porter to say the least.
