I was real lucky to find this and the old porter before I left Greensboro brought them with me and opened them last night. This one poured a darkish brown kinda cloudy with light head that left some nice lacing.Really nice balanced ale with a firm malt background, nice fruity flavors abound of apples mainly.Really like to find good English ales like this.

A very solid, balanced ale across the board. Dark, murky appearance. Bottle conditioned. Huge malty, fruity aroma. Plum, apple and grape flavors abound. Alcohol is easily detected, even at 5.0% abv. Substantial mouthfeel. Classic English strong ale. I'd definitely buy more of this.

Eh, I wasn't too impressed with this one. Decent coloring but I was not a fan of the flavor, it was way too fruity and had a strong apple flavor, almost like a cider beer but not as smooth.
