I had a 0.2 liter glass of this at a bar in city center of Cologne, while hopping from place to place to try as many Kolsches as possible. Based on this unique somewhat side-by-side tasting, I hoped to develop a ranking of which ones are best.
Ganser looked like all the rest, pale golden color and clear, with a thin head that has no retention time. The aroma was mild, more malty than anything else but not really to strong in that attribute either. Appropriately muted flavor, but I appreciated the hint of musty funk, it gave me something to focus on besides "drinkability".
In my opinion Ganser is above Fruh but below Reisdorff, based on my criteria that the beer has a funky musty/BO component to the aroma and taste.

Yellow golden color, intense, and clean as usual. Classic white head, maybenot too long, but ok.
In the smell a good grassy hop, with some notes of maybe camomile.
Malty taste, with some hop note. Less drt than others kölsch, but still pleasant and well balanced.
Some more hop in the aftertaste, not too long.
Kölsch onthe malty side, but quite pleasant.
