Hops dominate the character of this beer! We have used New World hops and a blend of traditional, home-grown malted barley to give this golden beer an intense, tropical aroma and a distinctive bittersweet flavour, typical of a contemporary American pale ale.

Malt: Caramalt, Pale, Crystal, Dextrin
Hops: Mosaic, Amarillo, Hallertau Blanc, First Gold

Poured from a 500ml bottle
Pours a deep straw with a finger thick white head. The aroma is of light ripe fruit grassy malt with a vague breadiness although in general it's light of aroma in general . The grassy taste leads the way followed by a generic soft fruitiness.Theres hop flavour and a touch of bitterness but each layer of flavour seems separate from the others, nothing is flowing or working together. The mouth feel is alright, noting awry . Overall, this beer is aiming at many targets and hitting none. Grassy malt is good in beer, fruitiness is good, hops are good but the way everything is put together here just doesn't work. Not a bad beer but not great. Confused and in need of vigorous polishing .

Side note. Significantly better quaffed than sipped.

500ml bottle.
L: Clear, amber colour, many streams of bubbles, one finger of off-white head. Looks great.
S: Light malt.
T: Loads of caramel flavour with a grapefruit edge. Medium bitterness.
F: Medium body with a slick, oily mouthfeel.
O: A fruity, malt-forward English pale ale with a hefty dose of dry, citrusy New World hops. I’m not convinced the caramel and grapefruit work together particularly well, however. It’s like a citrus flavoured toffee. Not unpleasant but a bit odd.

Rebellion claim this beer is “typical of a contemporary American Pale Ale”. Eh? No chance.
