I've been getting into IPA's more, but I'm still picky and this one wasn't very good. It had that cheap beer after taste.

Never had a TN brew before, so picked up a sixer of 12oz bottles at a Kroger north of Nasheville. Lighter color and body than conventional IPA, mouthfeel is okay, and then comes some pleasant caramel and vanilla notes that turn, horribly, to rusty metal and wet garbage. I've never experienced a finish so alarming. I don't even know how they did that. Maybe something got into the batch?

Had this on 2014-12-11 in Nashville, TN on-tap at the brewery's airport location.
A - Pretty clear orange with a 1-finger off-white head and good lace.
S - Somewhat dank, ripe pineapple and a touch of pine.
T - Moderately hop forward, toast, some orange flesh and malt sweetness, pine. Finishes with grapefruit zest and a bit of residual sweetness.
M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. Somewhat prickly and resinous.
O - Very tasty and well balanced. Leaves me wanting more.
