This golden sour ale evolved for over a year in freshly emptied pinot noir wine barrels with aged hops, wild yeasts and souring bacteria before a secondary fermentation with apricots. Mindblowingly complex tart and fruity.

A: Orange, opaque pour, with minimal head, retention, and lacing
S: Aroma is vinous with stone fruit subtleties, white grapes, apricots, lemon, vanilla, oak, grain, brett, a touch of wood, and smoke
T: Flavor profile is vinous yet fitting with apricots and pinot noir barrel elements. More notes of stone fruit funk, green apple, peach, oak, wood, floral hops, and earthy complexity
M: Surfacing carbonation with an appropriate body, crisp feel and dry multifaceted finish
O: The composure is done fairly well via funk and fruit components. There is a lot going on, where some elements come out in severe intensity, others have a more restrained simplicity

Batch 2
Wow!
Tart up front, but makes way for a very smooth grape/apricot flavor with a nice finish that recalls my favorite Pinot Noirs.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at Oneinchaway's tasting.
Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, fruit, acidic, and funk aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, fruit, and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that has a nice balance of sour, funk, and fruit aspects all around.
Serving type: bottle.
