this beer is amazing, the winner from the city of nashville (and i sampled my fair share, i promise). this is incredible beer, part of their acclaimed embrace the funk series. its got a great bright pink color to it, hazy enough, and thicker than expected, with a short and short lived white head that settles into fizzy thin bubbles pretty quickly. it smells fantastic, bretty and funky, mature and rustic, old but still bright, the yeast profile on this is awesome no doubt, and my mouth waters for it. the grapes give it a lot of flavor. its one of those wine beer fusions where you actually taste grape instead of wine, and thats whats going on here. sweet and light, with a fuller wheat body, its unique on the palate, and the flavors come in waves all fueled by the brett. the barrels its aged in have housed chianti, and i think thats new to me. i dont remember another chianti barrel aged brew, so this is wholly unique to me. the oak on the barrel is light, while the wine tannins creep in and interact well with the brett. there is only moderate acidity, and it does not cut the fuller body. grape flavor and funk linger on the finish. its not carbonated real crazily, but the alternative sort of mouthfeel is cool too. overall this is really unique and special beer, and it deserves some attention. this whole series is fantastic, and this is my favorite installation so far!
