Our inaugural sour blonde ale fermented in Foeder No1. This non-blended ale was fermented with multiple funky Brettanomyces. Wild yeasts and souring bacterias that all lend to an ever evolving tart bright character.

Look:
Pours a slightly hazy, golden yellow with a one finger, dense off white head of foam. Leaves very little lacing on the glass and the head fizzles away almost instantly.
Aroma:
Very sour on the nose; with big notes of tangy lemon juice, funky hints of banana cookies, wet grass clippings, candle wax, bitter orange peel and a touch of shoe polish (in a pleasant way). Sort of a white grape / white wine note to it as well.
Taste:
Dry and tart. Very tangy. Initial white grape / sultana flavor gradually transition into funky hints of wet cardboard and dried hay. A restrained bitterness creeps up on and blankets the palate with zesty flavors of dried apricot and bergamot. Goes funky /yeasty again towards the finish, showcasing gentle flavors of sourdough bread and banana. Ends on bitter flavors of lemon peel.
Feel:
Texture is crisp and bubbly. Light bodied with a noticeable alcoholic nip. Dry.
Overall:
I'm not a huge fan of wild ales although I do enjoy them from time to time. This was not exactly what I was expecting but still very enjoyable. I'd recommend this if you like sour beers but be ready for that barnyard / wet cardboard funk.

Truly an amazing effort from the folks at Yazoo.
Tart but not overly so... Bracingly sour... But not overly so...
Attention getter... Sweet Tarts in a glass.. In the best way possible...
A 32 oz growler is plenty as this drinks bigger than 5.9%...
Incredible effort... Top notch world class sour..
Loved this beer!

Body is a light honey gold in tone. There is very little head that fades quickly to just a skim. Nose has a noticeable horse blanket thing going on that is very attractive. There are big notes of melon, white fruit and pineapple. A big blast of sour sharpness kicks in the door of your taste buds on first and I am stricken by the fact that this is the best beer that Yazoo has done. It is not harsh at all but wonderful fil of fruity funk. Good white wine like tannins paint the mouth and make you pucker with every sip. Tons of pineapple teams with lemon, melon and tart cherry skins. This is a world class sour that promises a bright future.

Cloudy golden in color. Tart apple, stone fruits, tropical fruits and funkiness fill the aroma. Hay and a bit of pepper spice similar to a Saison. Flavors are tropical fruits with definite tartness and a bit of woody character. Really nice stuff. Would drink tons of this as it's not overly acidic and balanced in many ways.
