Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.
12 oz. Bottle
Poured into a Yazoo glass a pretty nice cloudy golden yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a quick one-finger off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, sour/tart, with some oak, red wine, grapey, lemons, some funk. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, nice sour/tart, oaky, with some red wine, grapey, lemon, nice little funkyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, with a dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks John!

Poured into a tulip glass. This one was moderately hazy with a bright, almost luminescent golden color. A standard pour produced a modest white head which settled fairly quickly, although some foam persisted. There was a perceptible wine-like aroma on the pour, and the amount of aroma surprised me for this style of beer. Closer inspection revealed red wine, lemons, oak, and a little pepper. This one was definitely tart - not enamel-erasing tart but getting there. Somewhat fruity with lemons and tart cherries. The red wine and oak was there all the way through and rises up on the finish. Some black pepper. Not much in the way of barnyard/horse blanket/hay notes, this one is more like Sweet Tarts floating in a glass of Pinot Noir. Overall an outstanding beer that got more interesting as it warmed.
