For this baby, we used Zeus and Galena for first wort bittering, Goldings, Galena, and Columbus at 30 minutes left in the boil, Simcoe and Cascade at the end of the boil, and dry-hopped with Cascade and Simcoe after four days in the fermenter. The bitterness is a little more up-front in this one, compared to others before it.

A - Hazy copper with a big, two-finger off-white head. Head has excellent retention and slowly fades to a one finger cap. Webs of lacing left all over the glass.
S - Big tropical fruit aroma with hints of passion fruit and pineaplle. A light citrus scent is mixed in as well. The faintest hintd of biscuity sweetness underneath. Excellent nose.
T - Tropical fruit with a puckering bitterness. Lots of pineaplle in the taste. Light biscuity sweetness is stronger in the taste than the nose, but is still playing second fiddle to the hops. Clean hops taste.
M/D - Medium bodied with a long lasting bitterness. Good carbonation. Very easy drinking if you like big hop profiles.

Another Hop Project thanks to JR (Photekut). Served in a GI pint glass.
A - Again, a big three-fingered foam that has much better retention than #13. Lots of gorgeous lacing as well. Similar semi-opaque brown-orange color, but the improved retention bumps this one up a 1/2 point.
S - I'm guessing this is the one that was dry-hopped with Simcoe, as it has the tropical fruit and slight peach flavor that I get from other Simcoe brews. There's some nice floral and dank earthy flavors as well, and a nice doughy kind of malt character as well. Again - it's held up pretty well since April(!), but it doesn't really explode out of the glass.
T - The taste is lots of tropical fruit, peach, and doughy malt - again, pretty much in line with the smell. Residual bitterness is moderate, but more present the #13.
M - Similar mouthfeel - soft, light medium body, lower carbonation, nice residual oily resins. It feels a little more viscous than the #13, so I'll give it an extra 1/2 point.
D - Again, very drinkable stuff. Nothing that really prevents you from putting back a few bottles of this one. No obvious alcohol, soft texture and low carbonation, good taste - not much more I could want.
You can tell this HP was a little fresher than #13 (although both held up pretty well from April!). I'd love to get my hands on something straight out of the tank to see how these brews taste super fresh.

Wasnt really even aware they were doing this series but when i got this one in the mail I jumped right on it. Served cold and poured into a pint glass, this one was consumed on 07/10/2009.
The pour was nice, very good and standard for the style. Amber in color and clear with lots of carbonation leading up to a nice head of white across the top. Big aroma of grapefruit here, light touches of orange peel as well, but it faded quickly and as it warmed lost out to some biscuit like notes. This did not hold true though for the fresh, mouth ripping hoppy goodness that was in store. The first sip let me know this was as solid as an IPA as you get. Rich pineapple and grapefruit pucker the mouth and dry it from start to finish. Nice medium feel and super fresh taste led to a big suprise on this one.
Overall I really did not know what to say here. I wasnt even aware of this series going on, but wow. This is one solid beer for sure. A huge thanks for getting this one to me, it was a damn fine night!

IPA, IPA, very nice... IPA. Hop Project #14 was delivered to me in a growler by a very good friend how just got back from Nashville. It is good. Looks like an IPA, almost orange. Smells like Hops. Hoppy / grapefruity. Yum. Hops hint a bit of floral but mostly citrus. Smells good. It taste like hops but not overly bitter for the hop smell. Similar to a SN. Great after of hops. The mouthfeel is not greatly substantial, but that just leads to an easy drinking IPA. Great flavors come through in the beer but aren't extensive. Easy to drink. I like it.
