Served on tap at the Flying Saucer in Nashville.
The appearance was your normal Sue, dark w/ tan head.
It was hard to pickup the smell due to it being served in a smokey bar. To be honest, I picked maybe a little bourbon, but it was pretty faint.
The taste was spectacular with a sweet, oak, vanilla taste that you expect from a boubon aged ale. I was suprised by how little you could taste of the normal Sue, but as the beer warmed, you could pick out a little of Sue's cherry.
The mouthfeel and drinkability are where the beer really shine. It had almost a creamy quality to it that made it much more drinkable than I expected a barrel aged smoked porter to be.
Overall, this was a terrific effort by the good folks at Yazoo and I hope to try it again soon. Keep up the good work guys.
