For this Hop Project, we used Warrior as the first wort hops, then Amarillo, Cascade, and Nugget as bittering hops at 75 min; Columbus, Warrior, and Nugget at 30 min; Warrior, Columbus, and Citra at 5 min; and then dry-hopped with Citra, Columbus, and Centennial after four days in the fermenter.

12oz bottle with twist off cap to pint glass. Great extra from a great GA trader. The label notching indicates a bottling in the first week of November. Sampled on 1/20/11.

A: Poured down the center of the glass. The entire 12 ounces doesn't make it into the glass before the monstrous 4 finger ivory colored cap takes over. Lumpy with deep pockets. A long retention creates some seriously sticky lace, as does the body of the beer but to a lesser degree. The body is cloudy and amber-orange in color.

S: The hop bill is stellar: Warrior, Amarillo, Cascade, Nugget, Columbus and Citra - all added at different stages. This beer was then dry-hopped with Citra, Columbus and Centennial. Definitely a hop bomb and it remains pretty abrasive to this point. White grapefruit, orange and resin. Malts include bread and pie crust.

T: Citrusy and spicy. Some rubbery phenols make their way onto the back end of the palate. Finishes massively bitter.

M: Medium-full body with a great tingling carbonation.

D: Drinks pretty well even at 2 1/2 months. I'd love to see what else Yazoo has to offer.

A- Slightly hazed orange. Thin white head. Some lacing.
S- A bit of floral hops and some tropical fruit aromas as well.
T- More pine on the tongue than in the nose. Definite tropical fruit flavor. More caramel than malt.
M- Finishes super dry. Medium body medium carbonation.
D- this was my first hop project. I will definitely have more of them. A really clever idea.

Good beer. I have only had one other hop project and it was impressive.

Shared by Gonzoillini at a recent tasting. Thanks tony!

Pours a wicked orange color with a small head.

Smells of hops! Not really sure what hops were used, but smelled good!

Hoppy with a heavy bitter. Orange comes in later before the bitter. Other citrus notes were there as well, Lemon maybe?

The bitter was a bit much after even my 4oz pour, but I could drink a bottle of this.

12oz bottle, bottled the first week of November.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a small soapy head that shows excellent retention as it's fed by a steady stream of bubbles from the bottom.

Aroma has juicy oranges and pineapples paired with a healthy caramel sweetness. There is also some herbal spiciness in the nose. Nice mixture of hops.

The taste is less citrusy and amps up the herbal and floral hops. It's really bitter in the finish with the citra coming out more with an almost vinous, oaky character.

Moutheel is creamy but prickly with hops. Medium bodied with strong carbonation.

This is my first Hop Project from Yazoo and it's a solid beer. I really like the concept and wish I was able to try more of them.
