A: Pours a hazy dark brown/mahogany in color with light to moderate amounts of visible carbo0nation and some faint reddish amber highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall thin light beige head that quickly reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a minimal ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal to light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: There are moderate aromas of roasty malts along with farmhouse funk, tart cherries, and oak.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of chocolate malts along with a light amount of roastiness. That is followed by the moderate amounts of tart cherries and some lighter notes of oak. Very light hints of caramel and vanilla along with the moderate funkiness that I expected.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slight amounts of acidic prickliness upfront and some hints of dryness in the finish.
O: While this is the "Wild Child" of souring bacterias, it was not overpowering and was actually quite easy to drink - could possibly appeal to folks that are more starting out with sours/wilds.
