They now list the brown ale as "Organic Brown". Not sure if the recipe has changed, it doesn't taste like it.
Like most of Hunter-Gatherer's fare this sticks pretty close to what you'd expect an English Brown to be. Off the tap it's a fizzy, deep walnut color with a 3cm creamy toasted-tan head.
Smells... well, typical. Mild roasted grains, some coffee, grainy, light hop bitterness. Nutty and has HG's signature mildly acidic nose.
Tastes pretty good. Roasty, clean, a little over-carbonated in the keg. Medium roast malt, semi-sweet. Finish is grainy and fresh. Very "English" earthy hops. Good drink. Served too cold.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and sharp from the over-abundance of CO2.
Pretty drinkable. Should be $2.50, but I'm sure rent is high in this place. A very basic, safe Brown ale with no big faults.

The beer arrived on the bar a clear dark brown with amber highlights. The head was tan and lasted to lace the glass.
The aroma was caramel with choclate and a slight fruitiness.
The flavor was chocolate and caramel with a dominating bitterness which was substantial, but almost nutty. The brewer was probably trying for a nutty flavor but came out with a nice bittering component.
The finish was dry with chocolate and hop bittering into the aftertaste. The body was medium.
Everyone who walked in was having a Brown Ale. It was very odd to see it being the tap the keep giving and giving.
