On tap at the brewpub back in April of 2010. Listed as 7% on the chalkboard. From notes:
A. Unfiltered, low 2mm head, color of old apricot. Some head staying power, low lace.
S. Sweet... hmm. Real malt-sweet forward. Some tropical fruit, lots of cascade, green. Lacks any real character. You can't just dump extra malt and hops into your standard pale ale recipe and hope for the best, now can you?
T. Sweet and almost sugary, raw with some rough booze - this is obviously young - the hops are there, grapefruit and medicinal-herb bitter. Beer seems under attenuated or maybe just served before it finished out. Sharpish and rough. Classless and vulgar. Surely just a stab at a style.
M / D. Full and spritzy, malty finish...
Yeah... I dunno. HG's beers lately have been lacking, and this is sadly no exception. Problematic in the details, but, and I hate to say this, it's good to have ANY new beer from this place. I am growing increasingly dissatisfied with the lack of care that go into the beers at ole Hunter Gatherer. The food is still quite good, and the atmosphere and location are hard to beat. It being the only game in town, they may have just stopped trying.
Oh well.

I must say I wasn't terribly impressed with this beer. There was no head to speak of, and what little there was disappeared quickly. The mouthfeel was more watery than it should have been. I found the hop presence underwhelming, and there was an odd flavor that I couldn't place, which detracted from my enjoyment. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this beer from this one experience.

The beer arrived at the bar hazy amber with a persistent off-white head which laced the glass.
The aroma was slight hops with caramel and a maltiness in the background and a slight fruitiness.
The flavor was fruity and malty with a decent hop bitterness for the backbone of the beer. That bittering was nicely accomplished and kept the beer from becoming overyly sweet. Nice balance.
The finish was dry and pleasantly bittering. The body was medium or just a smidge more.
Nice beer. Could use more in the aroma department for sure and the flavor could use a boost as well.
