Pours a dark, dark brown, almost black but not quite. A thin white head which did not stick around for very long. The taste is a variety of several different malts giving it a nice dark chocolate taste. The glass was clean without any lace as I drank. It felt like a "light" porter, it was not heavy on my tongue or palate like I prefer most porters. It was agood beer, but it was missing the "something" that makes me go "wow!"

This pours nice dark color, almost but not quite black. As with the other beers this evening, there was little head, and it disappeared in a hurry. This had a nice malty smell.
You note the chocolate and coffee in the malt when drinking. There are not any noticable hops to speak of. It is not anywhere near as heavy as it looks, and drinks OK. It does not have the complexity of a better made porter, but is perfectly suited for the target crowd here, the pre or after show out of town crowd. This is a nice beer, but don't expect to be sitting there discussing all the different things you are tasting and raving about the depth and skill of the brewmaster.

this was the one folks seemed to be recomending, I gave it a try. This was listed as a "seasonal" brew. Typical appearance., Flavor was of rich roasted malt, sweetness and moderate hops present. Smooth, light bodied, went down easy, decent porter, worth trying. I had no time to try any of the brewery's other offerings.

This was their seasonal brew, a very opaque near-black beer with a vanilla colored head that dissolved quickly, this was a pleasantly good tasting beer. Good malt flavor with a slight hoppy taste, the standout quality was the strong roasted flavor, almost to the point of a lite Rauchbier smokiness. A good combination of thick flavor in a smooth beer, this porter was easily drinkable, though I imagine it is on the low-ABV end for porters. Probably in the middle for me as far as porters go, but since Times Square Brewery is close to my work I can see myself going again, and I would definitely order another porter.

Appeared black at first but actually is very dark ruby-red. No ABV was given on the beer menu, but it tasted about 5.5% to 6% at a guess. Average carbonation. Tan head, good lacing on the glass. Subtly malty, roast aroma. Flavour was quite chewy with caramel and a nice maltiness, some roast notes too and a subtly balancing hop character. Pleasant, well-balanced with a moderately dry finish. Better than what I remember of most of the old Times Square Brewery's beers.
