Well, this beer is definitely the color of a brick. It was satisfying to help cut the humid NYC weather, but not sure I'd go seeking out another one. There was very little head on this beer. As could be predicted from the color of the beer, it had a nice blend of malt and hops. There was a slight bitterness to the finish, but not overwhelming. If anything, a bit more bite may have been nice. While it was a decent enough beer, I am not sure I'd suggest it to anyone in the Times Square area.

I thought that this was a good session beer; nice reddish amber color, but little to no head. Hop discernability to aminimum, but I liked the residual sweetness. I enjoyed quaffing this beer, and quaff i did to make our 2:00pm curtain call. Again, an enjoyable pre-matinee ale.

An amber beer that was, well, amber. This poured with very little head, which dissipated quickly. There was no lacing or head left by the time I was done with a few gulps. This had a nice hoppy smell, which carried over into the taste, but left the mouth as soon as it went in. It didn't offer too much in terms of body or complexity, but was a nice, drinkable beer. Of the threeI had in this joint, it is the one I would probably have another of. Nothing special, but nothing to snear at either.

A deep, red color with a decent malt hop balance, though a little on the sour side. Small, thin head that dissolved really quickly. Pretty drinkable except that twinge of sourness left for an unimpressive finish. Overall a decent beer, but nothing really separates it from the pack. No ABV listed for this or any of their other beers.

I didn't notice the haziness described in Imbiber's review (I would have been suspicious too,) but I agree that since the brewery is new I imagine there's still some inconsistency in the brews. I'll probably try this again in the future but the Dunkel and the Porter did more for me than the Red Ale.

Red and a bit hazy. Small, light tan head, not much lacing. Aroma was slightly hoppy, slightly earthy. Tasted predominately of malt notes with hops trying to balance it out, doing quite well at first but fading out not long after. Easy-drinking but quite innocuous; a bit of a disappointment after the porter which I enjoyed far more.

I'll try it again at some point in case this was a poor specimen of what it should be (it was hazy which implied there may be a problem).
