Tasted this beer yesterday at a JDW's pub nr. Farringdon station, London.
A: pale straw hued with great clarity, topped with a very thin but frothy head leaving nice fine lacing.
S: floral hoppy, with a pinch of salt(?), very profound white-grape (Sauvignon Blanc) like vinous note, but not too astringent or OTT. Overall the mixed nose is softly aromatic hoppy, but not as pronounced as its name "quadhop" or "four varieties of hops" tend to suggest... I guess the condition is not ideal by the time I have my pint.
T: soft-textured citrusy and floral (like lemon tea) hoppyness covering a bready malty overtone; followed by a semi-thick texture of hard water like flavour, while a lightly apple-ish Styrian Goldings(?), lightly earthy hoppyness of EK Goldings and the bitterness coming with them prevail from the mid-flavour onwards. Good amount of hoppy and fruity aftertaste, finished rather clean.
M&D: a medium-bodied golden ale, its mouthfeel is ultra-smooth, but overall a bit flat in terms of texture, which goes slightly against my expectation of a golden ale/bitter that I'd wished to be more lively to match the hoppyness coming with it. Should be bigger in aroma and more lively on palate when tasted fresher, for sure. Not bad.
