Bought in Kiev in a 1 liter brown plastic bottle with a brown label featuring the name and the façade of a church. Ascorbic acid is an ingredient. Best before 3/6/04, I opened it on 1/25/04.
Pours a clear bubbly rich amber color under a light tan one finger head that looks great, firm, rich and creamy, at first, but fades too quickly. While the head lasts, the lace is also excellent, but thats not for long. Theres a very nice strong caramel and spicy hop nose. The mouth is light and quite prickly. The flavor is just right, delicious: malt, caramel, a touch of roastiness at first, followed by a substantial, not over-powering, and smooth hoppy bite. The hops linger long into the aftertaste, at first accompanied by caramel but outlasting all other tastes. This is definitely worth looking for.
