this isnt terrible, but its certainly not what these guys do best either, and with so many quality gose types out there, this one didnt really measure up all the way for me, which is not to say i wouldnt drink a glass of it again if i was craving such a thing, but that superior examples of these are abundant right now, and something slightly better than average really isnt saying much. the cucumber element is strong, its waxy and almost harshly green like the skin, but the beer overall is a little sweet, could be not fermented down as dry as it should have been, and the sourness is really light, barely even tangy, which i think exacerbates the intensity of the cucumber as well as the residual sugar, more acid from the lacto side of this would probably clean that right up. in that sense, this is a little safe, but on the other hand, it makes a gose style approachable for those who might be intimidated by something more sour. the salt is also really minimal here, the whole thing just seems a little underdone to me, but i think its cool dillon dam is venturing into this realm, for a long time it was very basic styles only in here, so this is a cool new direction for them! keep it up!
