330ml can served in an ordinary glass.
A: Pours a golden clear color forming a medium creamy and bubbled light beige head with medium to low retention that forms and leave some spotty lacings in the glass.
S: Sweet nose. Strong notes of pale and caramel malts. Honey. Bready yeasts. Grassy hops. Bit booze finish.
T: Bittersweet upfront taste. Strong notes of pale malts. Grassy and slightly citrus hops profile. Very bready. Honey. Sweet aftertaste.
M: Medium to heavy body. Medium to low carbonation.
O: Good drinkabiliy. Quite smooth mouthfeel for a 8° beer. Classic strong lager. Low fermentation yeasts profile. Grassy hops. Great lager.

Birreria Pedavena "Birra Dolomiti Doppio Malto 8˚"
33 cl brown glass bottle, "BEST BEFORE END: 12.20.18 P L229717"
4€ @ Gelateria Punto Gelato, Via Dei Pettinari 43, Roma, IT
Look: Clear deep golden/amber body beneath a short head of white foam. Average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Limited aroma of grainy malt with herbal hops in the background.
Taste: Fuller than the aroma suggests with just a light touch of toastiness to the grain. It's not like Munich malt, but there is a cereal-like character to it. It's sweetish but not "sweet", and the mild herbal hops are lighty threaded through. A firm bitterness anchors it, and it finishes mainly dry. At 8.0% abv the alcohol doesn't really show but it does have a suggestion of strength behind it giving it a "warm" edge that doesn't become spicy.
Feel: Medium in body and gently crisp with a little bit of a dextrinous feel, and a little bit of an alcohol wash.
Overall: I was hoping that this would be a bit like a doppel helles bock but it's not. It doesn't appear to use Munich malts, and therefore comes off as fairly basic and "flat", but still with some strength. Fortunately what's there is nicely balanced otherwise it would have been a great disappointment. If I had the chance to choose again I would have gone for the Doppio Malto Rosso athough I'm not sure that would have been any better.
