Picked up in Yekaterinburg, this one comes in a standard brown half liter bottle with a red, blue, yellow, red and gold label featuring some flags, some medals and some fancy writing promising a beer brewed from a traditional recipe. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before the ides of March, I popped this one to "celebrate" Iraqi election day - 1/30/05.
Pours a standard clear gold under a one finger white head that disappears completely very quickly. No lace, no collar, no nothing. Mild barley nose. Fairly heavy, well carbonated mouth. This "classic" has a pretty classic Russian macro taste - bland malt, very little hops, and what's there is metallic. Malt dominates, but it's stale bread from start to finish. It's drinkable, but if this were all I could get, I wouldn't be a BA.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
