Picked up in Yekaterinburg, the name refers to the river that flows through that large, ugly Ural mountains city. The bottle is standard brown half-liter, with a blue and white label featuring a seal bearing a polar bear and a traditional wooden house surrounded by the slogan "Urals - Supporting region of state power." Hmm...Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 3/10/05, I opened it on 1/29/05.
Poured clear gold under a one finger white head that fades quickly to collar leaving no lace. The nose is slightly fruity amongst the malt, with a touch of cherry. The mouth is very prickly and light. Pretty non-descript taste here - some barley, a touch of sweetness, no discernible hops presence, but a taste of rusty tin in the aftertaste. An utterly forgettable brew.
