12 oz. bottle generously provide by Brewmaster during visit to the brewery 1.30.10, shared with local beer buddy 2.5.10.
My understanding is that the beer changes a bit everytime, and this is the last bottling current available. Amber brew, less than a finger white head, a bit of lacing, small ring of head surrounding the top of brew. Pretty big hops in the nose, a bit of caramel malts, surprising hop presence for two year old beer, wondering what this was like fresh. The taste is piney hops, and a pretty sweet finish, sticky. I went back and checked the nose again, very candi sugar like. Nice carbonation, a real active mouthfeel for the style. At this ABV, small doses are good. While certainly not in the PtY, Exponential Hoppiness or Dreadnaught category, this is a pretty nice Triple IPA, definitely worth a try when in Tri-Cities.
