This has been their seasonal for a while now and i have had quite a few of them. Golden Hallucination pale gold with a small off-white head, no head retention or lace

Smell is kind of sour as a lambic, a touch of wheat.

Definitely phenolic, I maybe don't have the palate, but can't taste any rubber, but it isn't my favorite at all.

I like the mouth feel, kinda light. crisp. but not the best tasting beer.

I've had a few of them, but only because it was the highest percentage they had. Not worth 6 bucks.

Part of the sampler platter. Reviewed 7/15/10.

P: Clear, brilliant golden body with no head.

A: Ester profiles; raspberries? Subdued malts and hops.

T: Berry fruitiness up front. Biscuit malts. Piney hops cleans up the finish. Dry and crisp.

This is a pretty tame version of the style. Not much going on here.

Served in a Thirsty Bear cervoise, Golden Hallucination is a dull gold with a small off-white head, really just a big bubbled collar with light skim, leaving no lace.

Smell is kind of sour/musty wheat, some rubber, wildflowers, a hint of lime.

Taste is sharply phenolic, spicy and rubbery. There's some sweetness, but more esters then sugars, the floral notes losing out to the pepper.

Mouthfeel is sharp and crisp, but some nice creamy carbonation dulls the bite.

Drinkability is ok, really not my style, I prefer fruity to spicy tripels, as I feel the esters increase the perceived heat of the alcohol. Pretty much your average brewpub crack at the style.

Had as part of a sampler tray. The beers here are generally lower ABV and this was the strongest on offer.
Apperance, slightly cloudy golden tone, more of a Belgian strong than a triple, head dissipates quickly.
Smells friuty, nice touch of spice in there as well. Maybe a hint of clove, picking up on plum maybe.
Lots of phenol's in the taste, a sharp hint of spice, but runs a little sweet for my palate. some fruity esters, but slighty watered down more than expected.
Overall drinks easier than an 8% beer, enjoyable but nothing to write home about.
