2.5 unattractive murky tawny color, with lively Champagne-like bubbles that give it at least an extra half-point
3.5 light and bright with tartness, some grape scents ... My first whiff of a Thirsty Bear sour and it's MUCH better than I expected
3 tart / bitter toward finish ... Composition seems unrefined
3.5 light-bodied, refreshing
Individual scores were weak, but overall drinkability is up there. Extremely surprised by this from Thirsty Bear.

Had on-tap at Triple Rock in Berkeley.
Pours a darker brownish orange with a touch of yellow. Head is one-finger cap that retains decently and leaves a bit of spotty lace but not much.
Nose is restrained - green apple and some yeasty funk which is nice, but not as strong as I'd like. Good must and some grassiness help it out, along with a slightly dry winy aroma.
Taste is a pleasant step up, with a soft tartness to start it off and a great sweet fruit flavor of apple and currants in the middle. Cherries take over the apple, and the beer moves into darker tannins and a leathery red wine finish. Good combination of light, sour fruit and darker red wine traits - solid taste.
Mouthfeel is lively and pretty carbonated, with just enough to keep the texture interesting through the beer. Creamy at times, and dry at the finish, it's an easily drinkable beer as well, and the abv isn't killer. Overall this is a solid sour worth having if you get the chance.
