Sampled 4/25/2011 at the brewpub.

Pours clear dark orange, nice fluffy white head great lacing and retention.

Aroma is grass, lots of earthy spice, some malt, and a hefty dose of booze.

Flavor isn't as hoppy as the name or the nose would have me believe. Decent amount of booze, some grass and herbal notes along with spiciness but mostly just malty and kind of sweet overall for a German lager that isn't a bock.

Body is a bit heavy and sweet but carbonated well and all around pretty smooth. Drinkable.
