Complex, very drinkable and hits a punch. A nice weissenglass of this stuff makes for a very cozy evening.

Pours a rather cloudy, almost hazy, golden amber coloration with a huge, frothy, lasting head. Smells of doughy, slightly bready malt, prominent esters of banana and lighter apricot, as well as hints of grassy hops. Taste is a great balance of sweet'ish doughy, slighty bready malts and fruity, slightly spicy esters of banana and apricot, with just a hint of clove and peppery spice, as well as some grassy, very slighly citrussy hops, with hints of lemon peel. Finishes with a very light bitterness and some sweet malts and fruity esters, as well as just a hint of grassy hops lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium and carbonation.
This makes for a relatively light and very drinkable Weizenbock that is heavy on the fruity esters, with a distinct apricot note in addition to the typical banana esters, while being a bit more light on the spicy esters as well. There's some hops in there, but these are also rather restrained, with the sweet'ish, doughy, bready malts taking the lead here. Drinks very easily without a hint of the ABV noticeable, almost more like a strong Hefeweizen than a Bock, and feels rather refreshing on this hot summer evening.

500ml bottle at Andechs. The Andechser Weizenbock is dark orange in color and has a fruity, yeasty aroma. It has a sweet, fruity first taste of ripe banana. There is then more wheat malt and more yeast on the palate. The aftertaste then brings more power, here the bock shows its alcoholic side. Not sharp, rather sweet and sneaky, it attacks the brain cells. A good wheat bock, strong and dangerously drinkable.

500 ml bottle, as Kloster Andechs Weizenbock, from Left Field Beer, England. ABV is 7.0%. Hazy straw colour, enormous white head. Strong aroma of ripe and over-ripe bananas, also caramel and cloves. Wheaty flavour, a little citrus first, followed by banana, caramel and cloves.

Slightly hazy honeyed gold with a tower tight pitted snowy foam; yeasty slurry nose with banana and bubblegum highlights; Nilla Wafers, lemon zest, a earthy tang, banana cream pie, vague apricot, nutmeg; creamy, sprtizy, medium,

A rarity: both blonde weizenbock + a less seen Andechs.
This is a regular strength weiss with the volume turned up, and a bias towards esters. There are specks of vanilla + fruit that you wouldn’t normally get at session strength, though nothing like the complexity in Vitus. Phenols are limited to a back hum of spice, though I’ve had it more clove forward in other samples.
Maintains the high standard of Andechs: no burn, dead smooth, superior balance. If we’re talking brewhouse technique, though, I do have to question why the filtering and relatively low ABV.
Overall, an easier, more digestif example but still with plenty to explore.
A session pale wezienbock, if that’s a thing.

Absolutely first class weizenbock from one of my favourite breweries. Pours dark, golden and hazy amber. Smell is very much weisse in nature as is the first sip. Mild spices and yeast tingle the palate further with a dry and creamy finish. Superb.

e0,5l bottle with a label date of 16.08.2023
Beautiful color with an oddly fizzy head. Aroma/flavor/feel are all a boozier, heavier version of a Hefe. Has the tasty finish and body of a Bock with some unique character from the wheat and special yeast used. A great sipper and cool weather beer. I’ve had few beers of this style but I imagine this one to be up there with the best.

L- Murky deep amber. Pours with 3mm off-white head.
S- Fresh, Wheaty, Weisse sense; a sense of seriousness though.
T- Woah, bright, piquant, sudden spices here and there.... what to expect next? But yes perhaps that is it's joy. It is far from 1 or 2-D, it brings many facets.
F- Sure as ... doesn't feel like 7.0%. It hides that very well. Deep, trad, 'Klostery' (or klosterei lol).
O- Nice. The diff from a trad deeper Bavarian to a Deeeper German beer like this is a fine line, maybe, I like it. Nice beer, very drinkable. 500ml bottle 7% bb: 19/05/2021
