Appearance: Burnt apple juicy orange with a respectable yellowy white head. Above-average but not great retention.
Smell: Popcorn balls, apple juice, almonds, soapy hops, and pancakes.
Taste: Surprisingly hoppy, but in a subtle, almost sneaky way; leafy bitterness is permeating but shadowy, not bright and upfront. Malts are somewhat lame, not caramelly like they should be for the style, but rather dry, bready, and crackery. Corny and somewhat vinous as well, with a mild, fruity white-wine sweetness. Lightly lingering bittersweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Clean, welterweight, frothy. Sharply acidic.
Drinkability: This is not my favorite style, usually because I find it to be too sweet. Bet this is just the opposite - it's too weak. This is a good Pilsener, but a subpar Märzen.
