Our brew master’s tribute to the ale that made Burton on Trent famous. An English style copper colored pale ale with medium body and a dry finish. Delicious!

Had on tap at SBC Brewery & Restaurant in Branford, pour shows a nice amber to copper color, head size is decent with good amounts of soapy lacing. Good retention. Smell is of sweet maltiness and a firm grasp of peach, citrus and some spice from the malt. I love how this one rolls on the tongue, very toasty up front which gives away to a decent hop profile in the backround. Good balance between the two, with the malt character showing off it's stuff. Mouthfeel is very clean, good carbonation isn't too overpowering and feels a bit slick on the tongue. Overall my favorite I tried from these guys, this beer melds well in their Black & Tan which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. Try this one first if you ever stop in.

I sampled this at the pub in Branford. The beer arrives in an English pint glass. THe beer is a clear copper color with creamy off white head of .5 cm and some tight lattice on the glass. THe aroma is mild toffee and some lite grassy hops. First sip reveals an average body and very fine carbonation that tingles the palate. Flavor is mild with some toffee and roasted malt with just a hint of grassy hops in the background. The finish is fairly bitter with an almost aspirin astringency that lingers for a bit. A decent beer that is easy to drink and seems to fit the style. One of the better SBC beers I have had.

Clear copper in color. A very short 1/8" head that quickly receded to a spotty surface foam. No lacing. The aroma was a hint of floral hops and squirt of orange citrus. The flavor was a slightly sweeter mild malt, orange, and faint bitterness combination. This had potential if the flavors were cranked up a bit.

Medium bodied brew with low carbonation. Smooth at the start and finishes with a quick malt and orange citrus burst on the tastebuds. Not an overly exciting brew.
