A full bodied, deep-brown ale, crafted in small batches with English malted barley and 2 styles of English hops. Enjoy the rich, roasted finish!

Clear black in color with a creamy 1" tan head. Thick lacing forms on the glass. The aroma was of roasted malts and coffee. The flavor followed the nose with roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, with barely a hint of any hop bitterness. Medium to heavy in body.
Mouthfeel was smooth at the start, and finished smooth and slightly dry. The chocolate and coffee tones lingered nicely on the tongue after swallowing. Nicely drinkable and by far the best SBC brew I had on my visit.

The first of my brews at SBC this afternoon/evening. The beer arrives cold in an english pint glass. The color is almost pitch black but some deep garnet tints come through on the edges. A beige colored creamy head floats lightly on the surface. Aroma is dry roasted malt with some espresso notes as well. No hops on the nose.
First sip reveals a lite to medium body with smooth texture and fine yet tingly carbonation. Flavor starts off chocolate and roasted malt a little bit of general sweetness. The finish is very espresso and dry roast with a little coffee bitterness, that lingers in my palate and dries my mouth a little. Quite a nice brew IMO.
