Was a good example of a stout but not great. Not sure why they put oysters in it, in my opinion it added nothing to the beer other then a novelty factor.

A - Very dark brown with a good thick inch of light brown fluffy head.
S - Smell is odd. Not bad but odd. Strong nutmeg & medicinal herbal smell. Some vauge dark fruit aromas.
T - Very much along the same lines as the smell but with sme slight roasty chocolate flavours as well.
M - Too carbonated for a stout with a mouthfeel that is just ok.
D - Not a bad beer but apart from the appearance it didn't have much that I'd expect from a stout. Quite a shame as I was looking forward to it.

More a porter than a stout, I reckon.
A: Very dark, dark garnet, and only when the sun shines through it. Otherwise it's impenetrable. Thin tan head that doesn't hang around.
S: Roasted grains, and a candy-like caramel sweetness. As it warms, a brine aroma lifts out, and an unusual banana bread-like note.
F: Toasted flavours, chocolate/coffee, honeycomb aftertaste. A light fleshiness.
M: Fairly light for style
D: Quite drinkable.... after reviewing, we teamed it with a dozen Barilla Bay Oysters, which made an appropriate, and enjoyable, pairing.

Pours black with a small light brown head that is not particularly lasting. The smell is oyster sauce: you don't usually get that in a beer, but little else. On tasting there are some roasted malt flavours but these are not particularly strong. Overall, this is well worth a try for the novelty value of an oyster flavoured beer, but is not a great stout.

color of used motor oil, but not much head to speak of. only some tan lace at the edge of the glass.
sea inspired brininess contributes most of the aroma with some roasted malt noticeable as well.
strong dark malt flavor balanced by sharp bitterness. taste is almost too clean and refined though leaving a very light mouthfeel. perhaps its been fermented to too low a final gravity leaving not much behind to savor.
otherwise more of a one off specialty beer than a go-to rock.
