Pours a golden colour, only slightly cloudy with foamy off-white head. Fairly uninteresting-looking, but fine.
Smells quite tangy, not quite as funky as I expected. Cidery notes with pineapple and a touch of wood. Fairly subtle but pleasant enough.
Taste is a bit funkier, with a fair bit of oak as well. Notes of pineapple, sweet spice, barnyard that gets more and more bitter to the back, almost astringent. Could use more acid as it's quite bitter.
Decent body, bit tingly as it goes down. Fairly dry.
If this were from any other brewery it would be artificially inflated but this is disappointing from Feral. Seems lacking in complexity for them, a bit one-not and one-dimensional. I don't mean to hold them to unreasonably high standards, but this is just a pretty decent funky ale and nothing more.
