On tap at The Local Taphouse in East St Kilda.
20% of the blend was Boris Imperial Stout that got worked over by some Pediococcus.
A - Dark brown bordering on black with a centimetre of off white head that falls away almost immediately.
S - Very light roasted chocolate note initially followed by lots of vinegar like acetic acid aroma. Some hints of horsey barnyard brettanomyces funk. As it warms some dark fruit, red wine like qualities come through.
T - Initially the stout in the flavour comes through quite strongly but the vinegary acetic acid sourness quickly kicks in. Also some dark fruit flavours in the taste.
M - Medium bodied with a low to moderate carbonation. Quite a unique mix of sweetness and sourness.
D - Maybe not something to session but damn this is an impressive beer. Feral make a couple of average beers but this one has for once and all put them into number one for my favourite Australian brewery.
