Appearance - The beer pours a amber red color with a small white head. The head has good retention lasting awhile.
Smell - The aroma is light overall with notes of caramel and a bit of brown sugar and bread.
Taste - The taste begins with a sweet caramel and brown sugar taste. Mixed upfront there are notes of toasted brown bread which, with the sweeter tastes creates a base flavor for the brew. As the taste advances some light hop flavors of herb and grass come to the tongue. In the end, one is left with a slightly sweetened sugar and toasted flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is somewhat thicker for a beer of 5.8% and creates a rather nice feel for the toasted and sweet flavors.
Overall - A tasty and pretty easy drinking amber that is on the slightly sweeter side. Not too shabby.
