Pours a pale amber colour, lots of haze in the body. Cream-coloured head is dense and thick and nice. I always expect my dunkelweizens to be darker than they end up being, but I still think this is quite pale. Otherwise very nice.
Nice big banana lolly aroma. Lots of fruit with a touch of tang. Sweet, mostly, with caramel toffee malt backing up the fruit. Maybe a bit too sweet for my liking.
Very sweet on the palate, too. Lots of banana, with a bit more spice towards the back. Touch of clove and cinnamon. Finishes quite dry, but retains a slight sweetness as well. Not bad.
A little bit fizzy on the mouthfeel, especially for the style. It's what creates the dryness, really.
Nice wheat-beer notes, but could use more dunkel. More roast would ground it well.

On-tap at GABS.
Pours a disappointingly pale burnished amber hue, fully hazed with a solid enough body. Head is frothy and big, and a suitably slightly yellow colour. Unfortunately, overall it really doesn't look like a dunkelweizen. It's disappointing.
Nose is a little light as well, with some banana characters coming through along with a slight meatiness of ham or pork, that almost makes me feel like there's a touch of Bamberg rauchmalz in the mix. But overall, it's a little light, and again, doesn't hit the characters really as it should.
Flavour is again based around that mild banana character, with a slight carbonic or wheaty acidity and a grainy bitter bite on the finish which is again a little bit off for me. Finish has the banana character again, but here it's more like an afterimage, or just a wafting aroma. Feel is pleasantly chewy, however.
I mean, it's drinkable enough—not a bad brew by any means, but there are much better examples out there.
