Available only in the Speight's Tap Room in Dunedin at the conclusion of the brewery tour, although it has been to Beer Tasting Competitions.
From Keg to ~4oz. taster glass.
Appearance- A nice golden body, with an active amount of carbonation. The head was rather frothy and lingering -excessive but that was my lack of experience with pouring, let alone into small glassware.
Smell- Its a mild hop that is not the usual Saaz Hop. I am not holding it against them because its a nice change. The hop aroma is upfront and seems to blends herbal and orange notes together. The sweet malt takes a backseat.
Taste- A noticeable hop kick, from a mild pilsner. The hops seems to have a more pronounced earthy tone and slight orange kick that meanders into the sweet malt at the back of each sip.
Mouthfeel- Crisp finish with a lagery slickness.
Drinkability- It was an easy choice to go for another pour. I believe it is unique enough to make it in a limited release.
