Available only in the Speight's Tap Room in Dunedin at the conclusion of the brewery tour, although it has been to Beer Tasting Competitions. Brewed from an original recipe from the brewery's height of popularity.
Appearance- A rich and deep black, red highlighted body, the head as slightly creamy and tan in color. Lightly Carbonated.
Smell- A moderate aroma of roasted grains, there are chocolate and coffee malts in moderation and of course an herbal smell from the hops.
Taste- Just like the nose but the roasted flavor ends each sip.
Mouthfeel- A moderate bodied brew that is lightened slightly by the carbonation. A nice lingering roasted finish.
Drinkability- Its hard to gauge from 4oz tasters, but yes I would get it on draft if that was possible.
