Poured a nice, deep coppery color, with a rather large head that stayed around for a bit.
The nose is surprisingly malty for an IPA. Very earthy aroma. There's hardly any hop to the nose at all, unless it's full of English hop goodness that's disguised as maltiness.
It's not. This is a hoppy beer, but not "IPA" hoppy. The only real bitterness noticeable here is what lingers at the end. This *IS* a very good beer. It's very well made, clean, balanced... it just doesn't advertise itself as an IPA, and since that's what they claim it to be, that's what I have to rate it as.
The mouthfeel is a bit more robust, leaning toward medium/heavy, making the beer feel fairly substantial.
Again, this is not a bad beer by any stretch of the imagination. It just doesn't appear to be what it claims to be, style-wise. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again, but with the knowledge that I'd be getting a decent pale ale, and not an IPA. Try it out, though.

This arrived with a soapy head without much CO2 in evidence. The color was a really beautiful bright copper. The nose had a light hop profile, but not too light as to frighten me. The mouthfeel had a good hoppy presence, coupled with enough malt to make it highly quaffable. The finish was lightly dry with a lingering hoppy presence.
