330 ml bottle, as CCA Cervisia Ambar Caesar Avgvsta Cerveza de Trigo, from Alcampo Gran Canaria. ABV is 5.2%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Typical pilsener aroma of grassy hops, some wheaty notes too (citrus, cloves). Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. Citrussy flavour, moderate grassy hops, some cloves.

Cerveza con una buena cabeza espumosa persistente. De cuerpo ligero y carbonatación media. Aroma cítrico y a levadura. En boca sigue destacando el cítrico pero también aparece el cilantro.

From Hipercor. 2 days before bbf. In Teku glass. At lunch, with dorada al hornl. Smooth, without the high carbonation of other wits. Delicious sweetness from the cereals and with the spicyness of the style noticiable but soft, nothing excessive. Avg 4.
26 Apr 2018. New label. From Hipercor. In Teku glass. At lunch, with 3 delices rice. Fine but much more carbonated that the old-labeled version I recently took, losing smoothness and plenty of taste. Seems to improve with age

330ml short bottle. Bruggs Goblet. Pale straw color & crystal clear appearance. White froth, brief crown. Bready hues, hints of orange zest & spices, light metallic odor to the nose. Malty & slight acidic at first sip. Medium body. Moderate to high carbonation. Hints of fresh bread, citric bitterness & astringent sensation. Dried & spiced finish. Nice looking bottle for an unbalanced beer.

First of all, to me this is closer to a wheat beer than it is to Pale Ale. Very nice bottle and cap, it pours a pale cloudy yellow colour, kind of a Hoegarden.Decent head, that doesn't hold much, but leaves some lace. Aroma of coriander, banana, and some clove (just like a witbeer). Taste is more of the same: banana, coriander and some citrus. The wake point is the light body and its lack of, how would I say it? Puinch? It doesn't really have a strong aroma and it's not strong on the tongue. Nice try, but it could be better.

Very short wheat beer, faintly drinkable for a very watery and light interpretation of the style.
Presentation: 33 cl bottle. Roman inspired text and seal. Back narrative notes the Etruscan/Roman legend of the founding of Zaragoza, ties the brew to the celebration of the city's modernity and history, and briefly explains main ingredients and intent followed by the Expo Zaragoza logo. Displays best by date (26/08/10) Shows Alc. by Vol. (5,2%) Served in a tulip glass.
A - Deep yellow/golden pour. Good head with fine retention and fair lacing.
S - Faint hoppy notes and a bit of a grainy malt scent.
T - Light wheat notes, with rather subdued hints of spices and grain.
M - Light body, with short carbonation that quickly feel rather watery.
D - Not awful as a refresher but it is rather boring and forgettable.
Notes: Pity, cause it is always nice to see new tries to expand the horizons of a such a poor beer country as Spain. This in that sense is a welcome addition to the mix, but one that is rather short of contributing to a better quality environment.
Ah, and this is certainly not so much an American Pale Wheat Ale but more so of a Witbier, albeit a subpar one, but Witbier nevertheless in inspiration and style. However, the average description for an American Pale Wheat Ale does not suit is so badly so be it...
And a final note of recognition to La Zaragozana. It´s really far from being a personal favorite, but in the Spanish context, and given the barren local beer landscape it´s for now one of the better macro-ish in the land (about 2% of the country´s market as of this note).

A translation of the back of the bottle:
Augustus founded the colony of Caesar Augusta at the turn of the year 14 AD based on an ancient Etruscan right: a priest wearing a toga drives a bronze plow yoked to an ox and a heifer, tracing the perimeter of the city. With this beer, Zaragoza celebrates her modernity and millenniums-old history. Brewed with malted grains, the ale-yeast double-fermentation process gives the beer a natural turbidity, freshness, and smooth, spicy aroma that reaches its fullness when allowed to mature in the bottle.
So this was brewed for the world celebration of 2008 in Zaragoza
Appearance; Hazy yellow with a white head that disapates quickly, much like American wheat ales.
Smell: Wheat and clove come out as does corn, citrus a little funk and some macro beer flavors... i think rice. There's a lot going on, it's like they through in some belgian yeast and wheat to their standard macro lager to make this aroma... it's interesting and not bad, but not what I'd generally want.
Taste: Much like the smell with more dominant corn. There's a hint of spicey noble hops and some honey on the swallow.
Mouthfeel: The citrus flavor delivers with a tang and there's a bitterness that balances. I think the hop profile was done well, but the bitterness does over reach at times.
Drinkability: Very refreshing, which is nice, but the macro flavors interfer with the cleanliness of the hops, malt and yeast.
