This is my second one from this brewery, they also make a West Coast IPA which wasn’t bad, actually pretty much better than your average Japanese craft. This one is also AOK, I don’t even recall having drank a NEIPA in Japan.
Looks a bit on the thin side but the aroma makes up for everything missing from this beer - smells like ripe grapefruits, pretty impressive. I get grapefruits in the taste too, a bit on the bitter side, very citrusy and refreshing - but then it kind of fades out, gets watery all of a sudden. It’s not bad by any means but I’d love to have a little bit more from my NEIPA. It’s almost like a “session NEIPA.” Makes the thing very easy to drink though, a chug. And it is made with water from Mt. Fuji - though it doesn’t justify it being watery. Not bad, especially for Japan.
