A: Poured from a bottle to a goblet. Had a brown color and a murky consistency. Lots of sediment. There was an inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. No lacing to speak of.
S: A sharp aroma of malt, fruit, and some yeast as well.
T: Tasted of Belgian yeast, malt, fruit (apples especially), and caramel in the finish. Not a bad flavor. It took a bit to warm up to, but solid nonetheless.
M: A well-carbonated beer with a slightly harsh finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This beer had a slightly different character than most BSDAs, but was still a pretty solid brew.

Appearance: Pours a dark amber-hued body, somewhat clouded, and crowned with a tall, foaming, light beige head.
Smell: Well-toasted malt, trifling caramel, a bit of bland spiciness, tainted fruit, booze, and Vegemite.
Taste: Lowly sweetish, lightly toasty malts marked by booze, a sad, savory dead yeastiness, stale spicy hops, and a bit of scantly tart fruit. It's the same sordid story until the warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Wholly unacceptable. Feel free to go ahead and pass on the Oost-West Rude Bier, folks!

A - This beer pours a cloudy dark ruby color. There is a big fluffy layer of off-white head resting on top. The head has excellent retention, and it leaves behind some scattered lace on the glass.
S - It smells of bready malts and belgian yeast. There are also some nice dark fruit aromas. I am also getting some notes of caramel sweetness and a mild hop aroma.
T - The taste starts off with some caramel and bready malt. There is a bigger hop bitterness than the nose suggests. There is a good amount of pine and citrus, as well as some fruitiness. The alcohol is also more present here than in the nose. The finish has some booziness to it, and a lingering hop bitterness.
M - This has a medium body and higher carbonation. It goes down easy and has quite a bit of bitterness. Some tingling from the carbonation is also present. I am getting some alcohol warmth in the finish.
O - This has good drinkability. It is some what of a sipper, but very tasty. There is a big bold flavor on this one. It has a big piney hop flavor, and a nice bit of sweetness hanging in the background to add some balance. Overall, I thought this was a really nice beer, and I would buy it again.

A collaborative effort between Sint Canarus and Bierkraft in Brooklyn, brewed in Belgium. It is a fiery red ale, all-powerful.
Pours dark red, a bit cloudy, with a nice high rocky head and chunks of yeast in the glass. Aromas of yeasty phenols and bready and caramel malts with spicy and citrus hops in the background. The aroma certainly belies the 10.4%ABV. Barely a trace of the potent ethanol. It tastes nice, strong up front bitterness with sweet malt rolling through. The yeast makes its presence known, this is indeed a Belgian ale. Some citrus, some spiciness in the hop profile, again. Fairly complex, but ultimately, a bit wanting. Overall, a solid brew, and one I will purchase again to put a bit of age under. This could maybe even qualify as a Belgian IPA here and I do like those with a year or so on them.
