s- not really any smell , just a hint of malt liquor scent
t- tastes like a bad version of corona if thats possible
m- applejuice mouthfeel
d- if its on sale for cheap and you just need an adjunct to get you hammered then this might be your beer

also, it is definitely not retired

A friend of mine brought this beer to a small party. I admit I was skeptical. It was 85 degrees out, and we sat around my pool as the kids splashed around. This beer did exactly what it was supposed to do! It was really easy to drink from the bottle. The beers went fast, proving others at the party enjoyed it.

Didn't know how much head it had, and I didn't smell floraly bouquets or anything. But that wasn't this beer's intent. It's intent is to steal Corona's market share. I thought it was better than Corona and will drink again under the same circumstances.

Del Mar pours a golden yellow with a thick white head from a clear twelve ounce bottle. The aroma is all corn, much as I expected. There really isn't much to this beer, it tastes like corn and maybe a slight woody taste. Not impressive, but not really much worse than your typical macro lager.

Pours out a light straw out of the clear bottle. decent white head foams up, but goes down.

Smell. an awful grainy smell. it smells dry too. thats about all i get. this is not a good smelling beer,

Taste. bad, bad, bad. a little grainy, lots of adjunct taste to it. light flavor, it's just a bad beer.

Mouthfeel. good carbonation. bad balance and bad mouthfeel- thin and puckering.

Overall, just a horrible, horrible beer. 'nuff said.

Seems like this cheap import is on sale every week at Winn-Dixie. Since I'm a poor college student I decided to pick up a 12 pack of Del Mar for $8.99. This pours a light, watery yellow with a medium-sized, but thin head. Smell is adjunctish, but not terrible. This wasn't skunked due to being in a box, but since the bottles are clear I could easily see it happening. Taste is watered down and cheap-tasting. A slightly sweet finish keeps this from being too terrible. Drinkability is okay, mainly because this isn't bad tasting enough to loath. All in all, I see this as a cheap price-cut option to Corona that might taste a tiny bit better.
