This beer comes in a blue can w a blue "oni", or devil, on it, which should not be confused w the Duke basketball team. The brewery's name means literally: "devil legend/folklore"--which is taken from the volcanic activity and sulfuric smells that abound in the city of its location, Noboribetsu, also having "hell" in its meaning.
Ingredients are: malt and hops
The beer pours a partly cloudy w a chance of showers yellow, and white, unimpressive foam, that evaporates quickly. No lacing. The smell is faintly fruity, with a delicate hop and malt presence.
Has a gentle mouthfeel, that gives a nice tingle on the tongue and the back of the throat; creamy finish. The taste is light malt, with an almost non-existent grain finish. Hops are largely absent and more perceptible using the nostrils rather than the taste buds. This is a drinkable pilsener, but very light, and nothing too special really. Sweet in the mouth; smooth goin down.
Picked up at the Onidensetsu Brewpub, in Noboribetsu.
